Maximizing Event ROI with an "All-Day Strategy"

For non-profit organizations and theme parks in Manchester and Chengdu, maximizing visitor dwell time is the ultimate metric for success. The client approached Star Factory Lantern with a specific goal: Transform a standard daytime dinosaur exhibition into a dual-mode, day-to-night immersive ecosystem.

The engineering hurdles were massive. The notorious UK rain required absolute IP65 waterproofing for all electronic matrices and motors. Furthermore, securely installing towering 8-meter illuminated lanterns directly on water presented significant buoyancy, wind-resistance, and anchoring challenges that standard lantern suppliers could not resolve.

Beyond weather resilience, the client demanded a high level of species diversity and physical realism to satisfy demanding paleontology enthusiasts and families alike.

Phase 02: Daytime Realism

High-Fidelity Animatronic Species

"Daytime is about exploration—unleashing curiosity." To create an authentic Jurassic atmosphere, we manufactured and deployed 35 industrial-grade animatronic units, ensuring a rich diversity of species that went far beyond the standard T-Rex.

Our engineering team meticulously sculpted the distinct frills and horns of the Triceratops, and recreated the unique nasal horn and osteoderms of the Ceratosaurus. Every unit was powered by industrial servos, guaranteeing smooth, bionic articulation without mechanical lagging, even during continuous all-day operation.

Phase 03: Interactivity

The "Magic Jurassic" Gamification

To bridge the gap between passive viewing and active engagement, we designed a comprehensive "Magic Jurassic" interactive ecosystem. We didn't just want visitors to look; we wanted them to touch, play, and interact.

Children were provided with tools to uncover simulated fossils in designated paleontology sandpits. More importantly, we installed Interactive QR-Code Triggers and physical control pedestals. This allowed visitors to manually activate specific dinosaur roars and motions, creating incredibly sticky, photo-ready moments that drove organic social media sharing for the park.

Phase 04: Nighttime

Waterborne Lanterns & Light Engineering

"Night falls, but the exploration doesn't end." To ensure the exhibition remained a high-revenue generator after dusk, we engineered 20 massive lantern installations alongside the animatronics. The most challenging of these was a towering 8-meter illuminated structure floating directly on the lake's surface.

Our electrical engineers utilized a central DMX timed automation system to seamlessly transition the park from day to night modes. Specialized external spotlights were meticulously calibrated to accentuate the dinosaurs' musculature and skeletal structures without causing the silicone to overheat or bleach out. We also integrated glowing skeletal dinosaur lanterns to create a surreal, museum-like nighttime aesthetic.
