A Halloween Bat Lantern Takes Shape in Our Workshop
From the first steel outline to the final lighting check, these workshop photos show how Star Factory Lantern built a custom bat character for a Halloween display.

A playful character for a Halloween setting
The bat has rounded eyes, a broad face and outstretched wings. Its expression gives the character a lighter feel than a traditional frightening Halloween figure, while the wing shape still reads clearly as a bat from a distance.
The photographs below follow the work from the open frame to the painted and illuminated character.
Forming the steel outline
The team bent and welded the frame to establish the bat's head, ears and open wings. This early stage determines the character's silhouette before the surface covers the metalwork.

Fitting the internal lighting
LED wiring was fitted inside the open frame before the surface was closed. The workshop photo shows the lighting positioned within the unfinished head and wings.

Adding fabric and painted detail
After the frame was covered, an artist applied color and shading to define the face and wings. The paint gives the lantern visible character in daylight, before the internal light changes its appearance after dark.

One character, two lighting conditions
The workshop photographs show the same bat with its lights off and on. In ambient light, the painted surface and wing shape carry the design. In the darkened workshop, the internal LEDs reveal the illuminated colors and outline.
