01. The Challenge: An Immersive 40-Meter Centerpiece
In Luoyang—an ancient Chinese city with over 3,000 years of history—a spectacular indoor exhibition required a legendary centerpiece. The vision was a highly interactive, 40-meter-long Giant Indoor Dragon Lantern that could truly bring magic alive for visitors.
To achieve an unparalleled level of realism, this bespoke animatronic lantern was engineered with multiple dynamic functions, including breathing smoke, realistic roaring, and synchronized opening and closing of its eyes and mouth.
02. Masterful Craftsmanship: The 3D Squamas Technique
Our skilled Zigong artisans meticulously polished every scale starting from the outline and framework. We ensured that the degree of protrusion of each scale was slightly different but precisely calculated to reflect the natural characteristics of a living creature.
This shape is a premium manufacturing technique known as "All 3D Squamas." Each scale is made into a 3D protruding shape. Of course, such a process is highly demanding—taking 40% more time and budget than a conventional flat dragon body. However, for clients seeking the ultimate "wow factor," this technique delivers a shockingly realistic shape that flat designs simply cannot match.
03. Exquisite Details & Muscular Tension
By examining the detailed processing of this giant dragon from different angles, the dedication to biological accuracy becomes evident. When the outline of each claw was forged, the lines of the muscles were already integrated into the steel frame.
