How an illuminated dinosaur display is built and delivered

Species, dimensions and placement

Confirm the species, quantity, approximate dimensions, viewing distance and display area. Include any supporting eggs, plants or entrance features, with the indoor or outdoor setting.

Frame, lighting and access

Review the outline, base positions, transport sections, lighting layout and cable access before fabrication. Match the section sizes to the delivery route and the smallest site opening.

Surface finish and lighting review

Develop the fabric surface, painted details and translucent colours over the shaped frame. Review the illuminated appearance from the intended viewing distance as well as close up.

Packing and assembly information

Agree section identifiers, packing photographs, joint details and assembly notes for the order. Confirm installation drawings, remote guidance or on-site assistance, where included, in the quotation.

Choose illumination or mechanical movement

An internally lit dinosaur uses its frame, surface and lighting to create a visible night-time form. A moving dinosaur also needs a mechanism, controls, service access and clearance around moving parts. Agree the actions first, then the finish, lighting and any sound or other effects.

What is a dinosaur lantern?

A dinosaur lantern is an illuminated figure made with a shaped steel frame, a fabric surface, internal LED lighting and painted detail. Large figures can be divided into transport sections agreed for the order. They are used in zoo night events, theme parks and commercial displays.

What is the difference between a dinosaur lantern and an animatronic dinosaur?

A dinosaur lantern is designed around an illuminated shape and surface. An animatronic dinosaur includes a mechanism and controls for physical movement. An attraction can combine the two formats, with lighting, sound, surface finish and operating requirements specified for each.

When does a T. rex need an animatronics quotation?

Request an animatronics quotation when a T. rex needs jaw, head or tail movement, or a timed performance. A static illuminated T. rex can be planned as a lantern figure. Include sound and the desired surface finish in either brief.

Can dinosaur lanterns be used outdoors?
